Established the necessary structures for a newly founded intercontinental express services company in South Africa, funded with 3.5m US$, and integrated 2 existing Cape Town courier express businesses.
The new holding was designed to establish a dependable air freight and courier service (KEP) for high-value shipments and documents for business in Southern Africa and Central Europe with locations in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Cologne/Germany.
Negotiated air freight capacities, established logistics structure and pricing system, supported sales and operations, liased with customers and suppliers, established relationships with the regional business associations and actively acquired customers in the field.
Set up an IT network, selected and implemented software solutions for dispatch and accounting, and trained all staff. – A full transformation from paper to electronics operations management.
Supported the establishment of the Johannesburg office. Self-reliantly opened up the European subsidiary in Cologne/Germany and developed the sales channels.
